New Jersey Nets CEO Brett Yormark said the team is committed to moving to Brookyln in time for the 2011-12 season, according to Bloomberg News.
“We’ll be there for the ‘11-’12 season. We’ve pre-sold 20 percent of our suites.” Yormark said in a report published on Friday. “We’ve got eight of our 14 founding partnerships already completely signed. Next week, we’ll announce our ninth.”
The Brooklyn arena is not built and owner Bruce Ratner is awaiting an eminent-domain lawsuit before starting on the Barclays Center. Groundbreaking could come in late spring or early summer, according to the report.
